Vaccination for Ministry suppliers

Vaccination for Ministry suppliers

COVID-19 Protection Framework changes took effect from 11.59 pm on Friday, 25 March, and vaccine mandates and My Vaccine Pass changes took effect from 11.59 pm on Monday, 4 April.

Under changes to the COVID-19 Protection Framework, from 5 April 2022, workers on school or kura sites where children and young people might be present will no longer be required to be vaccinated.

There may be some instances where school Boards choose to continue to require vaccinations for those working on site based on their risk assessment – if you are working on a school site, please talk to the school to ensure you understand what the change might mean for you and your employees.

As the PCBU of your work site, you can carry out your own risk assessment. You can still choose to require your employees to be vaccinated if your workplace risk assessment deems it appropriate.

There is specific information for suppliers operating school construction sites on our website.

There is more information about the changes on the Unite against COVID-19 website.

If you have questions, please contact your usual Ministry of Education contact person, in the first instance, or contact the National Office Corporate Procurement Team, email: Askus.Procurement@education.govt.nz
