Resources

Resources are provided as starting points for planning your teacher-only day.

Schools/clusters, kura and wharekura will be at different starting points for curriculum and assessment change. Select from the range of resources available based on your current understanding of changes and the stage of implementation you are at.

Guides and activities

We have a wide range of resources schools and kura can use when planning and running their teacher-only day. Choose the change area you are interested in below to find facilitation guides, information videos, and other activities to support the day.

We encourage you to select topics and resources that are relevant to you and your community. You are not expected to cover all of the topics

To support the May 2024 teacher-only day we have developed resources to help you learn more about the science of learning, structured approaches to teaching literacy, and how to use Tāhūrangi – your online curriculum hub.

We’re strengthening NCEA by making a series of changes to improve wellbeing, inclusion, equity, coherence pathways, and credibility.

NCEA resources

We’ve developed a range of resources to help you understand the changes to NCEA, and how to implement them in your school or kura. These include resources specifically designed to support you on teacher-only days.

Teacher-only days – NCEA

These resources can be used on teacher-only days to facilitate sessions with your department, school or kura. We encourage you to review the resources prior to the teacher-only day and select only the activities relevant to your setting. Together they offer more than a full day of activities.
